A visit to Semenggoh is only 24 km from Kuching. It is a 6.8 square kilometer Nature Reserve established as a secondary rehabilitation centre, where rescued or orphaned orangutan and their offspring are free to roam the jungle. Semenggoh provides a unique opportunity to watch these endangered animals as they come out of their natural habitat, swinging down gracefully through the jungle canopies to feed on fruit, and their playful antics are mesmerising to watch. Continue your journey to visit Anah Rais Longhouse. There, you will be able to see the splendid architecture of a Bidayuh longhouse, which is built mostly from bamboo. Anah Rais Longhouse is one of the most famous Bidayuh longhouses in Sarawak, located about 100 km east of Kuching City and quite close to the Indonesian border.
